This lovely short video describes the amazing ripple effect that can happen when girls have a greater ability to get an education, participate in their communities and have some say in when and with whom they choose to start their families.
Sound too good to be true? Check out this article from the NY Times that calls the phenomenon "the Beatrice Theorum."
Nope, an abortion is what happens when there is little or no education and/or poverty that restricts access to birth control. The second part of the comment is wishfull thinking and rather silly. What could a girl do if circumstance and draconian anti-abortion laws hadn't forced her to become a mother at a young age?

Wait, I thought the solution to poverty and lack of opportunity was getting an abortion... Just think of "what a girl" (or baby boy) might do for all human kind if we weren't killing them at a rate of 4,000 a day right here in America.
